Policy Work

Representation matters: the policies we get reflect the people we elect.

Women make up nearly half of Wyoming’s population, yet less than 1/4 of state legislators and county commissioners. In 2018 Wyoming ranked last in the nation for female representation in state government. We’ve moved out of the basement, but we haven’t come anywhere near gender parity. Women face barriers as candidates and elected officials yet electing more women strengthens democracy, makes it more representative, cultivates trust in elected bodies, and improves policy outcomes.
